11:00 am – 3:00 pm EST
THIS IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT HELD AT
NY Institute of Aromatic Studies
530 East 13th Street
New York, NY 10009
What’s the deal with CBD/hemp and skin? Everybody is asking, but who really knows the answers? In this 4 hour special workshop, join Mia Davis–a clean beauty business leader who created the standards for Beautycounter, Credo Beauty and others, and who has been researching and working with CBD for over two years–and Amy Galper, as they breakdown the CBD craze. Under their guidance, learn how to formulate your very own CBD skin care product–and what you should/should not say or expect about this fascinating plant ingredient.
The day will kick off with an engaging and lively discussion exploring both the science (available evidenced based research) and anecdotal evidence about the skin’s endocannabinoid system. We will identify all the confusing terminology currently swirling around and offer clear definitions and terms. Then participants will have the opportunity to formulate CBD skin care products, using CBD from hemp grown in the Hudson Valley of NY and the NY Institute of Aromatic Studies’s beautiful palette of essential oils and botanicals.
This is what you will learn:
- A crash course on our Endocannabinoid System and why it is important to our overall health and wellbeing.
- What is CBD? How is it grown and extracted, what is “clean”? How can you spot red flags when making a CBD purchase?
- Terminology: Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, Isolates, Potency, Hemp Oil, Terpenes, etc.
- Benefits of formulating skin care with CBD + essential oils
Learn the basics of the science (what we know and don’t know) and leave with your very own CBD skin care product you make yourself!
